Lewis Wilson

Lewis was born in 2000 and grew up in Falkirk, Scotland. He graduated from Heriot-Watt University in 2022 with a Master of Physics in Chemical Physics. During his later years at Heriot-Watt he contributed to projects involving ultrafast semiconductor quantum dot lasers and super-resolution imaging-based photonics, working with superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors.

Following this, Lewis began a PhD in late 2022 at the Quantum Optics and Computational Imaging Group, focusing on innovative applications for STMicroelectronics FlightSenseâ„¢ Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors, with applications ranging from pose estimation to observing the decay of biological cells using advanced microscopy techniques. You could find his work in your latest smartphones or consumer electronics.
